Plain Basmati Rice
My mum would make this when ever she was feeling a bit under the weather and needed a little pick me up. This recipe is very quick to make which is what you want when you are feeling a bit rough, just remember it's also pretty hard hitting. Not only does it warm you up inside, it also brings your mouth to life too so if you are suffering with a sore throat I would leave the chilli out.
Ginger has so many known health benefits from warming properties, to helping with tummy issues and it's also known to boost the immune system especially when you have a cold or flu. It is also a safe way of relieving nausea and and sickness during pregnancy. As an added bonus it tastes great too and has a citrus freshness which is lovely.
So next time you are suffering with a sniffly nose, and feeling a bit bunged up give this soup a go and bring your body back to life.
